Shireoaks Bridge - Cinderhill
Looking in the direction of Worksop, the new box culverted Shireoaks Bridge
To combat subsidence in the area, this new lock (Boundary 41a) has been constructed. The land has dropped considerably. The small River Ryton Aqueduct is just above the lock.
Cinderhill Bridge
Cinderhill Lock. This is the present limit of navigation but there is no winding hole above.
The next six locks are derelict, but planning permission has been applied for.
